Who is "The Chattanooga Fencing Club?"

Club founders decided in 2002 that fencers in the Chattanooga area needed a place for people who were interested in fencing. They had a goal of introducing the sport to new fencers, but there was no place to go and meet other fencers. And so...... The Chattanooga Fencing Club was born!

Over the last 20years we have been able to grow and acquire club equipment thru Grants, dues and tournaments to make it possible for area fencers to participate and practice their skills. Whether it’s recreational fencing or training for competitions, we want the experience to be fun and safe. We have several people who are qualified teachers and are available to help you learn.

We have beginner equipment for the new fencer to use: We start working with kids from ten to eighty plus years old, young fencers must be accompanied by an adult guardian. New Fencers with no experience are required to take a three to four week "Introduction to Fencing" class. It begins the first Wednesday of every month. Each class is 45 + minutes long and starts at 7:00 pm. This gives all new fencers a good foundation with proper safety and procedure.

We encourage all new fencers to buy their own personal equipment as soon as possible. We always want to have club gear ready for the new fencer just starting out.

We meet every Wednesday from 7:00pm - 9:30pm at The Belvoir Christian Academy gymnasium, (side door) located at 800 Belvoir Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37412

Please come by and watch anytime. The public is always welcome. Our goals are to have fun, stay fit, create friendships and learn one of the oldest surviving Olympic sports!
